One way car rental - MIA to Ft Lauderdale terminal

Anyone ever done this instead of a cab/uber,etc? Flying in to MIA, cruising from PE and want a car for our pre cruise stay.

 

Suggestions welcome.

Drive takes about an hour+ - we used Avis, dropped at FLL and taxied to PE (about $15). Some others (Alamo?) at FLL or in town offer free port shuttles.

We use Avis, and drop at their location off of 17th St in the Hyatt Pier 66. Free shuttle to the cruise terminals.
