mamabonehead Posted January 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2017 We are cruising to Sint Maarten/Saint Martin in May 2017 via Royal Caribbean. We have passport cards, but not full passports. Will this be sufficient when going between the two sides of the island? Or do we really need to get full passports?

No...you won't really know when you've crossed between the french and dutch side...there may have been a sign but our tour guide told us we just had crossed over...no one on the island will ask for your passport. jagsfan Posted January 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2017 No actual border so no problem. There's a road sign you might miss. And both sides take USD. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
navybankerteacher Posted January 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2017 On the west side of the island there is a monument marking the border - but no crossing formalities of any sort. On the east side there is nothing - just a low spot in the road where different philosophies concerning pavement meet.
