A free shuttle bus is normally provided for all passengers and crew on cruise ship transit calls. The shuttle bus calls at Royal Quays Shopping Centre and drops off at Tynemouth Metro station. Departures are every half-hour from 1 hour after the cruise ship arrival, with the last departure from Tynemouth at 5pm. From Tynemouth Station, passengers can access any part of the Metro network, including Newcastle City Centre, Gateshead, Sunderland and South Shields. An all-zone day ticket on the Metro costs £4.60 and can be bought from the machines in the station. The beautiful North Tyneside Coast, including Tynemouth Priory and Longsands beach, is also a short walk from the bus drop-off point. Please check with your cruise holiday provider for more details.
