Super Bowl sailing...

Two years ago we sailed on the Getaway when the Pats played the Seahawks. We watched the game in Spice outside on the big screen. As I understood things it was played in other areas, like O'Sheehans and maybe the atrium, as well. They had a "tail gate" spread along with some themed games in the casino. Being a Pats fan really enjoyed myself. I am sailing on the Getaway this coming Super Bowl; looking forward to whoever the Pats will be playing this year. ;)

I was on the Dawn for the Superbowl one year - it was ages ago, but other than playing the game on most of the screens, I don't remember any drink specials or activities. Not being a huge football fan, I tend to watch the SB for the commercials, so my biggest disappointment was that whatever feed they were using for the game didn't have any commercials. I believe they just showed a screensaver type screen during the breaks for commercials.

:D

I call the atmosphere "football festive". The game seems to be just about everywhere and many dress with jerseys/t-shirts of their fav team. Lots of stadium food present. I did it 2 years ago and booked for this year....... it beats a smokey bar at home, IMO ;-)

I DVR the game so I can watch commercials and anything I want to see again or I missed.

I've been at sea for several Super Bowls, most recently last February on the Gem, where the game was shown on all the TVs and in the theatre. They had (free) popcorn and real food at the theatre. The broadcast was from ESPN Caribbean, so we did not see the U.S. commercials or the halftime show. Plenty of commercials for soccer though. :)

It's a fun atmosphere, and even though I'm not a football fan, I enjoy watching the Super Bowl with a big crowd having a good time.
