2Cruise4Ever Posted April 10, 2017 #26 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Thank you for this info. About what time does this backup usually end? I'd say by 9:00 or so. But, again, the day after Easter is typically part of Spring Break. So, traffic should be lighter.

phrankbama Posted April 12, 2017 #28 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I have a question but it does not have to do with getting to the port, once you set sail, how long does it normally take to get to the Bay Bridge? Thanks.

Thanks.I previously researched other threads. I read that: The Francis Scott Key Bridge is about 45 (some say 60) minutes from the time you leave the dock. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (a double span bridge) is about two hours from the dock. The best time to see the lights of the Bay Bridge Tunnel is on the way back from the cruise (about 9 pm.) :)

Tony O Posted April 12, 2017 #31 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Also after you depart and before you go under the Key Bridge if you look to the left side heading out you will see a red white and blue bouy this is the approximate spot where Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
Rare mskaufman Posted April 12, 2017 #32 Share Posted April 12, 2017 When you go under the Key Bridge watch how close the top of the ship comes to the bridge.
phrankbama Posted April 13, 2017 #33 Share Posted April 13, 2017 We have never sailed out of Baltimore before so this will be very interesting and different. We sail on the Grandeur on June 10th. Thanks for all the info.
mugtech Posted April 16, 2017 #34 Share Posted April 16, 2017 How much does it cost to park at the port? If coming in a day early, what is the best hotel close to the dock?

We're departing tomorrow. Will advise if anything has changed. Not sure about hotels. Do any offer transportation to and from the port (like at at Cape Liberty)? tortuga1975 Posted April 20, 2017 #36 Share Posted April 20, 2017 How strict are they about letting you board before your set boarding time? I booked a last minute cruise and the earliest time to board was 2:00, but I'd like to be on board earlier than that if possible. FTTF was all sold out too. KTownGirl Posted April 20, 2017 #37 Share Posted April 20, 2017 As per the letter Carnival sent out last night for the April 23rd sailing, the terminal will not actually open until 12:30 and they don't plan on starting boarding until 2pm.
