They no longer listed smart casual. Here's the description that was in the compass, "DINNER - Please note that swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main dining restaurants or specialty restaurants" No mention at all of shorts being excluded. NJporkroll Posted January 20, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Shorts, jeans are fine. Formal night was mostly dockers and button down, and sun dresses. Very few in suits or tuxedos. Who wants to pack heavy clothing for a vacation. Especially with all the weight restrictions for those who are flying in. Packing light rules. moonltnite Posted January 20, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2017 For those that have been on Allure lately - do most men wear suits or sport coats.... or are most more casual in khakis and a nice shirt? When we last cruised on RCCL in 2009 - most men were in suits. Also - we are going to be doing the Chef's table on the first formal night. Would most going to that be in suits, particularly being a formal night?

Would most going to that be in suits, particularly being a formal night? We did Allure in November and I rented a tux. I was probably about 5%. I would guess about 70% were in suits or sport coats and the rest slacks and shirts. If I was doing CT for formal I would do at least a sport coat and slacks if not a suit. Personally, I find it easier to rent a tux so I don't have to pack the other stuff.

Ladies were in anything from long / short dressy dresses to dressy pants or just what I call 'going to church clothes... a nice dress or pants suit. Just wear what is comfortable for you.
