Katgoesonholiday Posted January 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Hi all! We haven't sailed from any AUS/NZ ports before but in two weeks we are boarding the Pacific Pearl for its 4 night trip up to the Bay of Islands. I was wondering whether there are porters at the dock as there is overseas. We will be driving into the city and parking in a nearby parking building. It would be easier to drop off the cases at the port before parking if this is possible, rather than schlepping them and the three kids through the city with bags. Having said that, the kids have schlepped bags through Los Angeles, New York, Southampton, Paris and Dubai so adding Auckland to the list won't kill them. :P
aussiedisneyfan Posted January 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2017 In Sydney we have been able to stop for a minute or so to drop off suitcases. Pretty sure that Auckland would be the same. From memory cars could get near the terminal for drop off, we walked from our hotel - so not certain.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted January 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2017 We left from Princes Wharf and were able to drive right up to the baggage drop area to drop off our bags. I assume it would be the same at Queens Wharf.

Opua Kiwi Posted January 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2017 OP: OzKiwiJJ is correct. No problem for bag drop at Queens Wharf where you are scheduled to board. Drive into the wharf area, go just past the ferries, there will be a person at the little roundabout, they will direct you slightly to the left , so you will drive to the end of the wharf then double back to the cruise terminal. Stop there, deliver your bags to the handlers, and drive off. Should be no drama.

He's going to drive down with the bags whilst I collect the kids from school for their 'specialist appointment' in the city.
