Mawelch Posted January 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2017 I know no one likes to talk about this subject, doing laundry while on cruise, but my DH insists on doing laundry mid-cruise so that he doesn't have to pack as many clothes. Can anyone tell me if the self serve laundry takes your sign and sail card or does it take quarters like the Elation or other older ships?:p

lyps_jackson Posted January 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Lol sad to say I was thinking about the same thing. We're cruising on the Vista for 6 nights in May and then going to New Orleans for 3 nights. I refuse to travel with more than a carry on. I'll be doing laundry also. Mawelch Posted January 22, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted January 22, 2017 Thanks for the responses. Now I won't have to carry a roll of quarters. The last cruise on the Elation it was quarters only and we didn't have any. My DH went to guest services to get a 10$ roll and they gave him 10$ of loose quarters in a brown paper bag that was stapled shut. We had a laugh about that. librarymom Posted January 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2017 I just did laundry on the Vista and there is no problem using sign & sail. However, there is only one iron and ironing board and several times there was a line for that. Try to avoid packing lots of things that need ironing. SadieN Posted January 24, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2017 I just can't believe you people want to do laundry on a cruise????????? Want and need are two different things. We plan on needing to do laundry on our travels. Doesn't mean we want to or like to but have to. We always do laundry on longer trips.

You can go to the cage or they have the machines that give quarters by the games that use them. You know the ones you check when the ship is rocking :D
serene56 Posted January 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2017 I just can't believe you people want to do laundry on a cruise????????? doing laundry on a cruise is very easy. (we do not plan to get off the ship) we will throw wash in then go have breakfast. Then throw it in the dryer-- and get ready for the day. By the time we are done the wash is done. easy peasy
