foreign currency exchange on ship

You'll get a better exchange rate with the vendors than with any exchange on the ship.

Just off the Ruby Princess 10 day. The Cabo exchange (need your passport) off of the Marina was offering almost par. Restaurants were exchanging anywhere from 18-1 to 20-1. Bring small bills. Only place we felt we needed to use pesos were in the mercados in PV and La Paz.

Many times we pay in dollars and ask for pesos in return. Done this is Walmart, supermarkets and some shops when they didn't have the US$. PV Walmart was giving more than the official rate when we went there last week.

It is quite easy to use USA money but it's always a better deal to pay in pesos.

You can use cambios on shore(change booths) and they will have the exchange rate posted. You should also just check the rate before you go so that if you use USA $$s you will know what to expect. It is over 21 pesos to the dollar today so really waaay in our favor!
