pieshops Posted January 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2017 We will be here for the first time in April. Are activities on the Island only run through NCL or is there any option to book a private tour there or have them pick you up there?

We will also be there in April and after looking in to it we found everything is strictly NCL!

luddite Posted January 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Yup. Everything on the island is at NCL discretion.
margie1221 Posted January 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Any issues with sand fleas at Harvest Caye?? Someone on these boards reported that it was "very buggy" - not sure if it was limited to the beach area or if it was at the pool as well. I guess then they'd be pool fleas - ha ha. Anyway, I could plan to throw in the Bull Frog type sunscreen if anyone can confirm this!!! TIA :)
iatag Posted January 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2017 I believe shoreexcursioneer is offering excursions from Harvest Cay. I did not try to compare them to NCL as we have a fully booked week and just want to relax on Harvest Cay. You might want to take a look.
zqvol Posted January 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Currently all excursions are through NCL, there is no way off the island to the mainland and NCL is not allowing private contractors on the island.
Nola26 Posted January 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Keep in mind enjoying the pool and beach are at no extra cost. So thinking of HC as a beach day is a great strategy. I took the Mangrove and Wildlife tour (boat ride). It POURED during the ride so what we saw was limited, but it was a well run excursion for $49 and about 90 minutes. Another passenger took the spice farm/ruins tour. She thoroughly enjoyed it. It is one of the pricier excursions, but it is off island. There is also a river tubing excursion off island. The HC Zip line excursion is less $ than the one I booked in Hounduras and one of the lines allows you layout in a Superman position during the zip. I would consider that on a return trip. Plug: South Shore zip lining excursion in Honduras is really well done. As a 1st timer I felt safe with equipment and guides. I relaxed enough to have a blast.
