TheBogeyman Posted January 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Cruising Freedom in the near future with a drink package. Will cocktails like margaritas, negronis, mimosas, manhattans be included? Are there any prosecco or champagne by the glass options that won't be over the dollar limit? Thanks in advance

dizneydawn Posted January 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2017 From the most recent wine list I saw there is not a sparkling wine included in the price cap. I mostly drink sparkling with my meals so I was very interested in the price! I sail on the Freedom in a week so I plan to report back after our sailing about my experience of included drinks in the package. Grangb2 Posted January 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 29, 2017 We have had the drink package multiple times since its Caribbean inception, are pretty good drinkers across a wide range of options and never had a problem with any drink we ever ordered. If you limit yourself to prosecco only I would think by the end of the cruise you might struggle to get value out it even if prosecco is an option. dizneydawn Posted January 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2017 So what did you find out??? Sent from my iPhone using Forums About what? The post you quoted is only a few hours old, we sail away in one week. I'm stil unsure we will get the internet package so my reply may not be for about 2.5 weeks. I will also drink Chardonnay with meals or even a cosmo with Absolut since Gray Goose cosmos seem to be above the package now. I also like a mimosa with breakfast and a mudslide or BBC by the pool. No problem making the package worth it especially since I drink a water between every alcoholic beverage and will get at least one or two lattes a day! Thanks for the help! On the Anthem this month, EVERY sea day in the casino there were $1 mimosas. Suggestion: You are allowed to bring two bottles (750 ml) of wine per stateroom. Make yours sparkling wine. :)

chandom Posted January 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) As they should be. :) Don't know why I thought Anthem had lower prices ($12 package limit). Added: Only reason I say that. Some pictures of the new blue menus show prices $1 less than Oasis. Sent from a mobile device Edited January 29, 2017 by chandom

wheretonow? Posted January 29, 2017 #21 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Ugh - so it looks like with the $12 limit, the "Ultimate" package only include the house drinks, not the premium drinks it advertises. Unless you do shots of the premium liquors. Not sure I want to be falling off the barstools  And those limes must still be pretty hard to come by! They are charging $5 to add coke and lime juice to the $9.95 Bacardi 8 and call it a Cuba Libre. Wonder if I order just a Barcadi 8 and coke without the lime juice if I can do it for $9.95? Or maybe order shots and mix my own drinks? Seems a bit silly.
chandom Posted January 29, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Using menus from Oasis... Rum started at $7.95, Cuba Libre was $9.95. What isn't stated is what rum is used for the Cuba Libre. Keep in mind on Oasis package covers the first $13. mingster30 Posted January 30, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Having loads of trouble finding out information about upgrading on ship . We have a free beer and wine package and want to upgrade , no one seems to know if this is possible . Any help would really be appreciated
Corby114 Posted January 30, 2017 #24 Share Posted January 30, 2017 I'm a vodka, beer, and wine type of guy. During the day at the Solarium Bar and Pool Bar I drank either Bloody Mary's or Vodka and Cranberry. After the regular bar stewards got to know me they would use the premium vodka in my drinks. If I didn't know them they would usually pour the house brand. At Vintage's on the Allure Of The Seas I was happy with a glass of the house red and during the shows and my stop at the casino a Budweiser fit the bill. The Ultimate Drink Package was worth it to me.
muirm0710 Posted January 30, 2017 #25 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Yes you can upgrade onboard for 10 dollars per day plus 18% gratuities. Although the select package became unavailable after September last year Royal agreed to honour the package or allow those that had purchased it or had it as part of inclusive deal, to upgrade to the deluxe package for this amount. This happened after many complaints and emails from those that had the package as part of the inclusive package. I received a phone call from Royal and an email confirming this after joining in with many on here voicing our complaint at not being able to upgrade to the then next package up, the premium, which also became unavailable after September. I upgraded to deluxe on Rhapsody Oct past for this price which was actually a saving on the upgrades that I did to the premium on the two previous cruises I have had with Royal. Just go to any bar or sometimes they have a table set up selling the packages and you can upgrade. You may be interested in searching for the previous lengthy threads discussing this around September time when Royal stopped the select and premium packages. If I remember correctly a thread started by Jules825 discussed this at length. I also recall Royal posting on there twitter account that they would allow those with the select to upgrade for 10 dolllars per day
