Vista cove balcony noise

I have a cove balcony under the forward restaurant on the Vista in a couple months. Has anyone had one of these? I was wondering about noise from the restaurant in the evenings.

Also, this is my first cove balcony. Any feedback on them would be welcome.

Have not been on the Vista (yet), but have been in a Cove on the Magic and the Dream.

Both times we were under the Guest Services or Shore Excursions area and experienced no noise.

Under the Dining Room should be the same. It is carpeted and most are out by 10pm.

From what we've read, under the Galley is a different story. They are working all night and noise from rolling carts, etc. can be heard throughout the evening.

The Cove offers privacy and you are close to the water and may see flying fish and/or dolphins.

You may experience spray from the ships wake, but the view is spectacular and the spray can be wiped away with a towel.

We have a Cove booked on the Vista next January.

Enjoy :D

Would you mind sharing what room numbers you've had on Magic and Dream? We are finally giving Carnival a try this November and looking at cove balconies!

You will hear noise, those that say no noise have a hearing problem.

We had cove balcony 2306 on Vista, which is located right below the shore excursion desk. Loved it. No noise (except for the door slammers) and also this particular cabin has no lifeboats over it, so it offers a clear view of the sky. You do get the sea spray as others have mentioned, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker to me. It’s great being that close to the water.

We tried a Cove balcony for the first time on the Vista in January of 2017. We were hesitant at first, after staying in several regular balconies and even an aft extended balcony.

WE LOVED IT! Being that close to the water for us was really cool. The only thing you are missing is usually a lack of sun; however, just take the elevators up to the Lido for that.

Sometimes you will have some sea spray on the balcony; however, most of the times it will be dry.

We had 2314, which I believe was either under the main dining room or just outside the entrance. We never heard a thing while in our room at night or early morning.

I think you will enjoy it!

We’ve enjoyed every Cove that we’ve cruised in. The privacy is great, and the sound of the waves at night is relaxing. It’s nice to have the shelter of a Cove when Mother Nature is trippin. I also keep soft silicone earplugs in my travel bag, so if there is ever any crazy noise anywhere we are, it’s no problem.

In December, we did a back to back on the Vista. The first cruise was a family get-together of 15 of us. Our kids hadnt been together at the same time in 10 years. What a fabulous trip and great activities for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Anyway - we were in Cove Balcony 2270, which was listed as mid-ship but more forward than we usually do. Our cabin was almost exactly above the shore gangway. What a treat it was to stand on our balcony and wave and talk with our kids who were going ashore. At sea, it was so very pleasant to see the water going by and to hear the sounds of the sea. The only problem I can remember is a "human-based" one -- door slammers. They just didn't seem to be able to go out to the balcony without letting the door SLAM! But that can happen anywhere.

The second cruise, we also had a Cove Balcony but we moved to 2354. That was a great cabin that was just around the corner from the mid elevators. We could very easily get anywhere on the ship with great ease. DH says I liked it only because when you took the elevator up, you could get off right at the casino entrance. Hey - we all have our priorities!

Love cove balconies, so much so that we have booked the Horizon in June for cabin 2356 (next door to where we were on the Vista).

I stayed in a Family Harbor Cove Balcony room, 2429, last Jan. This was the first time I've ever stayed in a cove balcony room & the noise was horrible! I heard scraping/thumping all night, every night. Our friends had a family deluxe ocean view (window, no balcony) only a few rooms down from us & they experienced no noise issues. Although I really enjoyed access to the Family Harbor Suite next time I'll go with a balcony higher up!

That is the 1 issue with the Family Harbor Coves (and Suites)... they are all under the gallery. Even the first 3-4 Deluxe OVs on both sides are under the galley as well. I had a Deluxe OV and heard no noise. Several months prior to my sailing, a Cove opened up and the only reason I didn't grab it was because I knew it was under the galley. I'm glad I stuck with what I had. That being said though, I do have a Cove booked on the Breeze for my next cruise. I made sure to pick one that was not under the galley

This thread has me interested about Cove balcony rooms now. At first I wasn't sure, based on possible negatives (noise from above, long rides on elevators, certain cabins on lower decks with weird smells when on balcony), but now I'm gonna check out which ships have them (is it all? Most?) and whether they are available for a theoretical cruise this fall with the family.
