jasper02 Posted January 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2017 I'm concerned about how calm or rough the waters are in NCL's Hawaii cruise. I'm hoping since we aren't crossing the Pacific that the water should be fairly calm. I am afraid of rough seas so this is why I'm asking. Thanks all. You can bring Bonine or Dramamine Non-drowsy medicine just in case you develop motion sickness
CruiserBruce Posted January 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Seas can be rough, any time, any location. It is not predictable. If you have a problem with sea sickness, you need to be prepared every day you are on a ship. This is not avoidable.
SuiteTraveler Posted January 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Definitely go to the pharmacy and get some Bonine (Meclazine is the drug name, Bonine is the most common brand.) Beyond that, ask your doctor for a prescription for Trans Derm Scops. You may not need to use them, but if there are high seas, they are a real godsend. If you don't have time to do that, the ships doctor will be able to help you should the Bonine fail.
CruiserBruce Posted February 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2017 I would be very careful taking medication advice from an unknown person on Cruise Critic. Nobody here knows you, your medical history, or any other potentially important info about your medical situation. While the meds described might work just fine for you, you need to get this advice from a doctor.
