Mare being skipped?

I have read on another site that some recent cruises (the last week) that go to Mare are skipping that port and finding alternative ports. Does anybody have any solid information on if this is happening and exactly why?

I read that too this morning, it said it was because of the water pollution on Yeyele Beach, It was ton the Royal Caribbean site.

That's not good at all, wasn't Mare added (and Port Kembla) due to the tendering issues at one of the other islands.

I know Mare was substituted in for Lifou for Explorer. I'm heading out Feb 14th on that one. At this stage, Mare is still listed in the cruise details as being a stop.

 

Hope we get there, would be nice to see. Failing that I'm more than happy to head to Isle of Pines too!

Explorer's last cruise went to Mystery Island instead; the issue with Mare was water pollution as others said.

So if your cruise is already going to Mystery Island and Isle of Pines (along with Mare which replaced Lifou), where do you think they would go as an alternative? Champagne Bay maybe???

Possibly or an extra sea day or Port Kembla.:D

we are on EOS on the 14th Feb, I am hoping we get Isle of Pines if we dont stop at Mare.

My daughter just returned today into Sydney (oops all that rain delayed fights to Melbourne badly). She was on Carnival Spirit with scheduled stop at Mare. This was cancelled due to algae. They substituted with Mystery Island last week.

Finding Mystery Island was fun. Captain Tasos on Celebrity Solstice - the star entertainer and funniest Captain ever, announced Mystery Island was such a mystery he didn't know where it was. Not to worry he says "I'll google it in the morning!"
