Free Captains Hat - SS Amerikanis

This hat is from a cruise aboard the SS Amerikanis back in the fall of 1988 to Bermuda when I was a boy.

It still has the original tag for $7.99. The hat was hung on my wall for years and then packed away in a closet. It is misshaped a bit from being stored but I don't see why it wouldn't bounce back.

 

Im not sure if this was a Celebrity cruise, back when Celebrity first became Celebrity or if this was a Chandris cruise. I believe they were the same company and Ill never forget the big X on the stack.

 

Anyways, Ill give it to anyone who wants it. Just pay for shipping. Domestic in the US via First Class with tracking shouldn't be more than $3 or $4. Just paypal me and ill ship it right out.

Thats so cool, both of our first cruises were on the Amerikanis. They dont make them like that anymore. Too bad she was scraped back in 2000.

Also sailed this ship in the 70's. It actually was leased to Costa when we sailed.

Alabaster Cruiser: I remember that. And I got credit for both of my cruises in Club Costa. I don't sasil on Costa anymore.

 

On a 2010 Connie cruise, I got to dine with Capt Gerry. When I told him I had sailed on Amerikanis in the 70s, his face lit up!! He went on to tell me that he was also on the ship at the same time!!!!
