BecL Posted February 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Hey Hey, Seriously doing the single digit dance and starting to pack which brings about a question: If Valentines Day falls on a port day will they make it a formal night? Honestly, i don't like dressing up on holidays but i want to enjoy a nice dinner with my husband for Valentines. It's now more just a packing thing - do i need formal night clothes or not?? Thanks for you help. Happy Cruising! Bec

Port days are rarely formal nights but your itinerary may give some clues, how many nights is the cruise? The 2nd night (normally the first sea day) is quite often a formal night, also the 2nd to last night, especially if it is a sea day.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted February 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Why don't you try to get into a speciality restaurant that night? And dress up a little but not necessarily formal, something pretty and maybe sparkly. Book as soon as you board though, others may have the same idea. Suzi66 Posted February 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2017 We boarded Solstice on Valentines Day last year. Although it was casual in the MDR, being the first night, they presented all the ladies with a rose upon entry to the dining room and had a Valentines themed dessert menu. In the buffet for lunch and afternoon tea (I don't know about dinner) they also had a large Valentine Cake.
