Smugglers Cove

We rented a car on Tortola. The mainstream car rentals were out of cars but found a small hole-in-the-wall place called "iTGO". We rented a 5-speed Nissan Sentra for $45 including insurance. It was pretty beat up but it got us around. The road to Smuggler's cove is pretty rugged and that little Sentra bottomed out several times (biggest speed bumps I have ever seen!!!), but once we got there it was all worth it! There were only about 10 other people on the beach, the views were spectacular, and there is a wonderful reef to snorkel on the left side. As long as you don't mind driving a 5-speed on the left side of the road on some major hills (kind of fun to me!!!) renting a car is the way to go on Tortola.

I'm sure you could get a taxi to take you there. We didn't see any just sitting there waiting, so you would have to make arrangements for a pick-up. That makes me a little nervous which is why we went ahead and rented the car.
