Catrin Posted February 19, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 19, 2017 My one time at HMC we had Cabana #10. Out of 18 cruises, that day remains my most favorite day ever. We were able to swim, read, eat, rest, cool off, walk, float etc. well worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Now... if I would just book a cruise with HMC AGAIN! dbrucern Posted February 19, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 19, 2017 We just had #7 Peach - half way done between the villa's, the difference this time (we have booked numerous times with Carnival) is we were on a Holland America cruise and I wish Carnival offered the same amenities that Holland does. Holland offers an additional butler service with the Cabana's and what a world of difference. We were met at our rooms on the ship and escorted off the ship and driven by golf cart to our Cabana. Once there our butler was introduced to us. We had been given menus on the first day of our cruise to choose our meal once we arrived on this island. The food came from steak house on the ship. The butler kept bringing food from shrimp appetizers to lobster sandwiches to the main entree. Our drinks never went dry. It was an absolutely fabulous day. dorisdvu Posted April 17, 2017 #28 Share Posted April 17, 2017 With a villa, how many cushioned chaise loungers do you get? Do villas come with a butler? What is your favorite one? When you purchase a villa, do you get priority tendering? Do they provide plates and plastic cups?
nat_mychelle Posted April 17, 2017 #29 Share Posted April 17, 2017 If you can get a cabana get one! We were there a week and a half ago and had Cabana #10 and loved it! It was so nice to have shade and some snacks. I told my husband that I would rent it ago just to get a floaty. Lol. Ours was super close to the rest room it was a little walk to the bar but there are some staff walking the beach with beer and once he knew what we wanted he always made sure he had some and stopped by frequently. We also really enjoyed the cabana at lunch as the picnic area was very busy when we went to get food so it was so nice to be able to carry our food back to the cabana and have a nice comfy quiet place for lunch! sk84fungirl Posted April 17, 2017 #30 Share Posted April 17, 2017 We've also rented before and are again this June. As others have said, highly recommend. This is truly a beach day. Get off the ship as early as possible to enjoy your day and to "protect" your space as there will be passengers that are not familiar with or don't care that these are not free of charge and will use your beach supplies. Have fun!
Sunquest4me73 Posted April 17, 2017 #31 Share Posted April 17, 2017 Highly recommended - every time we go to HMC we rent a cabana.
LynnTH Posted April 18, 2017 #32 Share Posted April 18, 2017 Glad I found this thread. There will be 7 of us. Leaving New Years Eve. Couple of questions: 1. Hoping to get a Villa - How many are there? 2. Any particular ones you would recommend? 3. Only been on cruises in March and June. Will it be warm enough to take advantage of having a Villa (or cabana if Villas are gone).
imluvncruzn Posted April 18, 2017 #33 Share Posted April 18, 2017 We are a family of 7, and on our last visit to Mahogany Bay, we were able to purchase 3 additional wristbands once onboard so we could all enjoy the cabana. Can you do the same for HMC? If not, what are the occupancy limits for each category? Private Oasis $1495 for first 12. $99 for each additional person up to $20 max Villa: $539 for 8. Cabana: $279 for first 4. $50 each additional person up to 6 max.

Will it be warm enough to take advantage of having a Villa (or cabana if Villas are gone). 1. 5 Villas 2. A, B, C are together and close to the Ship (bar). So more crowds and loud music. D and E are further down the beach and less crowds. I believe D and E are also wheelchair accessible. 3. We cruise every winter (Jan/Feb) and the weather is usually high 70's/low 80's. I've been to HMC 6x and we've had a cabana, villa, or Private Oasis each time. So worth the money!
imluvncruzn Posted April 18, 2017 #35 Share Posted April 18, 2017 With a villa, how many cushioned chaise loungers do you get? Do villas come with a butler? What is your favorite one? When you purchase a villa, do you get priority tendering? Do they provide plates and plastic cups? We had a villa in Sept. There were two cushioned chaise loungers on the lower deck and two on the upper deck. If you are renting through Carnival there is no butler service. I like being near the music and the ship bar so we chose Villa A. Yes you get priority tendering when you rent a villa. No they did not provide plates or cups. Just snacks (fruits, veggies, chips, dip, water, pop).
joepeka Posted April 18, 2017 #36 Share Posted April 18, 2017 I'm sure Carnival provides these and I'm guessing that someone here has one: is there a map of the beach area showing location of the cabanas and villas? The info that folks have posted here is helpful but I'm kind of visual and not having been to HMC in quite a few years, I don't remember much about the cabana/villa locations so a map would be really cool. :)

eyewannacruz4eva Posted April 19, 2017 #43 Share Posted April 19, 2017 So disappointed that they were sold out before I even knew about getting a cabana 🙁 Sent from my SM-N920V using Forums mobile app
The4Cruisers Posted April 19, 2017 #44 Share Posted April 19, 2017 OK, I'll be the voice of dissent... :D To me they are a luxury and not necessary. By that I mean that there is plenty of beach space and chairs beyond the pirate ship. If you do need shade, you can pull your loungers up under the trees (if there aren't any loungers there already). We don't need the extra food, snacks, and waters. We just enjoy laying on the beach or hanging in the beautiful water. We've been to HMC four or five times now. The money we saved by not renting a cabana has already paid for an extra cruise. YMMV, but cabana money is not worth spending, let alone villa or Oasis. dna529 Posted April 19, 2017 #45 Share Posted April 19, 2017 No cons. This is a splurge that we feel is worth it. You have your own personal space and shade. Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app

hard_eight Posted April 19, 2017 #47 Share Posted April 19, 2017 My Wife loves the cabanas. Been to HMC like 5 times now. Only con we've had was people/kids thinking the showers/floats were for everyone. Figured out on here to go early to reserve a high number cabana, and all is well. First and Ten Posted April 19, 2017 #48 Share Posted April 19, 2017 What are the cabanas up to now....$300? For $300 you get a tool shed with some chips, an apple and a 6 pack of soda. Or you can rent a clamshell under a palm tree for about $10....not really a hard choice now Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
vaddco Posted April 19, 2017 #49 Share Posted April 19, 2017 I was at HMC last week on the Carnival Pride. The clamshells were $29.99 and had space for 2 loungers inside. I was considering a Cabana but they were sold out long before I tried to book excursions. I was pleasantly surprised to find the clamshells when we arrived. We were on one of the first few tenders and the clamshells were filling up quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
BNBR Posted April 19, 2017 #50 Share Posted April 19, 2017 We did the Villa (with a couple of CC'ers) last time at HMC and found it well worth every penny. On our trip to Labadee later this year, we booked a cabana. It makes the day so much more pleasant having your own space. And the Villas on HMC are spectacular. Shower, hot tub, A/C, 2nd story loungers, food, etc. etc. etc. Just like paying for a suite - if it's outside your budget, you think it's not worth it. But if it's comfortably within your budget, it's great.
