For sure, some wonderful recommendations in the responses; for a “cruise theme” the recommendation of “Pirate Latitudes” is a good one for a Caribbean itinerary but, I think that it is definitely more appealing to guys.

 

Also, “the Marriage of Opposites” is a terrific one since much of the story takes place on St. Thomas. My wife and I both finished it shortly before a Caribbean cruise. We visited the synagogue in Charlotte Amelia central to this true story; what a great experience having just read the book. Coincidently the author was visiting the island that day and speaking at the synagogue that evening.

 

Another, although a darker theme and along the lines of a Titanic story, is Dead Wake by Erik Larson – about the sinking of the cruise ship, Lusitania.
