Diving Hawaii in April

Hi All! Just wondering what the water conditions will be like on the various islands in April. We are planning to dive in Kona and snorkel in Oahu and Maui. I have had some experience diving in 4-5 ft swells in the Florida Keys and it was not pleasant. I'm praying the conditions are better in Hawaii! Any input would be appreciated!

The swells come and go- it is not predictable. All depends on which way the wind is coming from, and where you are diving. For that reason morning snorkeling is usually recommended, as the winds usually increase as the day progresses. And west and southern areas for snorkeling, in most cases.

There will be plenty of great diving and snorkeling opportunities in April. You can check the surf forecast about 7 days out. Keep an eye on it as there is always variation in the surf regardless of time of year. Wind is another factor to consider. However, April should be ok to snorkel/dive the North Shores as you don't usually see the huge swells that late.
