hotel night before cruise in tampa

Getting into Tamp late the night before the cruise. Decent hotels to stay? How reliable are the ones that offer free transportation at airport and to the cruise line?

We stayed at the Tahitian Inn two years ago. It had a free shuttle from the airport and also to the port. Lots of things within walking distance. It was not a 5* hotel but I'm very picky and it was fine for us. Again, this was two years ago and the price was right for one night.

Rocky Point hotels offer a package including both airport and port shuttles - Chase Suites, Hampton Inn, etc. Nice area with dining options within walking distance.

 

 

Westshore, near the TPA airport, has lots of hotels plus dining and shopping options. Taxi to the port will run $25+tip if the hotel does not shuttle.

If you're arriving late and just want a clean , decent hotel in a good area, try the LaQuinta Tampa Airport. They have a courtesy airport shuttle and complementary breakfast. The hotel is adjacent to a 24 hr IHOP and across from the International Plaza Mall that has lots of restaurants with some open late.

 

The rates here are very good so for what you save take Uber or a Taxi to the port. I do believe the hotel offers a shuttle to the port for a few $ per person....So just weigh out the cost of that -vs- Uber or a cab.

My vote is for the Embassy Suites as well, it was great when we stayed there.
