Rare xpcdoojk Posted December 22, 2005 #26 Share Posted December 22, 2005 We are scheduled to see only the Argentina side of the falls due to time restraints (will have about 5 hours before the park closes). I'm rethinking that maybe we should request going to the Brazil side with our guide instead. We will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel (Argentina side) that evening before flying out the following morning so we will be able to see the falls on our own from the hotel area.Should we go with our guide from the airport to Brazil side instead of the Argentina side? You do not need a guide for the Argentine side if you are at the Sheraton, the trails are easily and readily accessible. The boat ride is easy to do as well. The problem is the park closes before sunset, so you can't be on the trails at dusk. We were chased off well before dark by the park rangers. It is at least a 30-45 minute trip each way between the two sides of the river including the border crossing. jc
gottago2mexico Posted December 25, 2005 #27 Share Posted December 25, 2005 You don't really need a guide for either side of the falls, but if you're going to get one, or already have one, the best thing to do will be to ask him the day of your tour. If you've hired a private guide, then he's not going to care if you switch sides of the falls - there may be a price difference, though, I don't know. However, they'll likely give you good advice about this.
