alj1208 Posted February 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) We're going to Alaska on HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam, Vancouver RT. We picked it for the itinerary. We heard there will be lots of families due to the summer vacation timing. But, I noticed there are 3 days cruising without ports. With a ship like that, will we be bored? We're late 40's with a boy, 10. It looks like the pool has a retractable roof for swimming if it's cold, so that helps. Interested in hearing from families who have been on this ship, preferably in Alaska. Thanks! Edited February 24, 2017 by alj1208 spelling
cb at sea Posted February 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2017 I can't imagine anyone being "bored" on any cruise...let alone an Alaskan! There is a kid's club....so your 10 year old (who, btw, is the perfect age for their activities!!) will have plenty to do! For me, swimming is something you think about when it's HOT...so if it's not warm enough, the swimming thing might not be a factor at all!
