SilverSeas Posted March 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Hi Everyone, What sort of things do people use their onboard credit for? We are new to cruising and are travelling on Brilliance in July- Med-Venice tour. Thanks so much for your help. SaveSaveSaveSave
SeaTheWaves Posted March 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Wonderful cruise itinerary! Everything you purchase onboard is charged to your account. The onboard credit will just reduce your balance. Onboard charges: shop purchases, BINGO cards, spa treatments, drinks (unless you purchase package, before leaving), specialty dining, gratuities, etc.

Rare Kristal Blade Posted March 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2017 And if, by chance, you have any credit left over you can purchase some nice duty free perfume in the on board shops. Sent from my iPad using Forums

cruzgryphon Posted March 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2017 One thing I found the OBC useful for when I was cruising the Med was laundry. Meant I didn't have to pack as much.

SeaTheWaves Posted March 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2017 It's best to book your excursions for a Med cruise, prior to leaving home. You will find a lot of recommended private tour companies in the "Ports of Call forum". You will save money and enjoy a more relaxing tour by using a private tour company. These companies are well aware of the amount of time you have on land and will get you back to the ship on time. If you don't know how to find Ports of Call Forum - At the bottom of this page under "Quick Reply" you will see "Forum Jump" click arrow and go to "Ports of Call" and choose Europe, Mediterranean - Eastern & Western Then choose Italy Ports. You will find lots of information on your ports. I found them very handy for my Med cruise and enjoyed all my private tours.
cb at sea Posted March 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2017 It's a CREDIT against any charges you make on the ship, You can't specify HOW to use it....but if you have $150 OBC, the first $150 you spend will be taken care of by that credit. angusblevins Posted March 5, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 5, 2017 This is completely naive but how do you get OBC? Sent from my iPad using Forums
SeaTheWaves Posted March 5, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 5, 2017 OBC can be received from travel agencies, cruise lines, redeeming points from a credit card, which are applied as OBC and/or receiving a cruise gift certificate from someone.
Cruise for vacation Posted March 5, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 5, 2017 You can always call RCCL prior to your departure and add OBC to your account, which is what I do. I have a cash account and load my seaspass before we get there.

mrsbusfighter Posted March 13, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 13, 2017 To ride on OPs coat tails- is the OBC amount per room or per person? DH and I are booked in a room together and when I log in it shows my credit- I'm guessing it's for both of us combined?
