it really is fair, for Carnival. The Cheers would be so abused if only one had to buy it. You would also need 2 different sign and sail cards, as Cheers is attached to the card. The stick means nothing.

That's why research is important. You can always cancel. An easy way around it is to take the money you were going to spend on your drink package and buy Cruise Cash. You can buy all the drinks you want and you can always monitor your balance at the onboard kiosks.

Consider this: you have to spend over $100 a day total for both of you for the cheers package to be worth it. At this point, my husband and I have decided to just buy drinks when we want them. Any money left over that would've gone to the cheers package can be used for other fun things :-).
