We had the great good fortune to be on a cousin's trawler to escort the "Eagle" into Portland Maine Harbor. We got to watch them all coming around the point to line up. That was one of the highlights of our lives. If anyone is ever within driving range of a tall ships event, don't miss it.

I had the opportunity to cruise on Premier Sea Breeze in Boston when the Tall Ships were there.

We saw the tall ships last summer in Duluth MN. Watching these ships on Lake Superior was awesome!

Looks like they are sailing from St. George's to Hamilton on 6/1 and there are a bunch of events surrounding the tall ship festival. http://www.tallshipsbermuda.com/index.php/events The event calendar shows that on 6/1, after they arrive in Hamilton, there will be a street festival from 6-11 pm. Does anyone know if they will still have Harbor Nights Street Festival on Wednesday or if they will cancel it because of this one on Thursday?

I think I found the answer. On http://www.bermuda4u.com/listings/harbour-nights/ it says, "Please note that there will be no Harbour Nights held on Wednesday May 24 or Wednesday May 31. There will be a Harbour Nights event on Thursday June 1."

That is the answer it makes sense since the would not have 2 festival events the same week in Hamilton.

 

As far as May 24 that is Bermuda Day. That is a public holiday in Bermuda. Shops and restaurants will be closed. There will be festivities all day. There will be a huge parade in Hamilton in the afternoon.

Any updates on Tall Ships events in Bermuda this year?

 

I will be on the Norwegian Dawn in Bermuda from Sunday May 28 1 PM to Tuesday May 30 5:30 PM, trying to find the best time and method to view the tall ships while they are in St. George's during our stay!
