rambollet Posted March 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2017 On past cruises we have always had anytime dining and enjoyed the options of sitting alone at a two top or joining a larger table and meeting new people. On the next cruise we have an assigned seating. Are you seated at the same table every night with the same people? Can you ask to to be seated at a different table the next time? backyardponder Posted March 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2017 We usually enjoy sitting at the same table every night. It is a great opportunity to get to know new folks quite well. Also the staff gets to know your preferences quickly. We once were on a cruise with friends, one of whom always drank lots of diet coke. After the first night, his glass was waiting for him when he arrived. Of course, there can be problems with personalities at the table you are at. That happened to us once. We talked to the dining room manager who changed our table to one on the other side of the dining room which avoided the awkward situation. thephillykid Posted March 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2017 You are on vacation, if you want to be by yourselves, then just request it, or if you want to be with others then let it happen. You can always make a change any time and the dining room manager will change your table.

That was part of my concern that we would end up with someone who had a strong personality or would talk politics. Nice to know you can change. With anytime dining we learned that if we liked our wait staff we could request their section each night so we do like building the rapport with the same wait staff. You will be seated with the same people, but you can request to change your table. If you would like select dining, just see the Maître D. They should be able to accommodate you.
