Food

Never had reason to wonder until now -- can you take food off in a U.S. port?

Only commercially prepackaged foods can be brought off the ship. Even if the ship is in its home port.

Once had the San Diego Ag dog alert on my Lemonheads. Can't blame the dog for doing it's job.

Sorry should have been more clear. We're embarking in NY, then stopping in Boston and Portland, ME. I was thinking about if it was allowable in Portland.

Yes factory sealed prepackaged foods can be taken both on and off the ship including USA ports of call. I have hypoglycemia and routinely take Special K bars with me in to port. When my son was younger we would also bring things like Fruit Roll-Ups or take the little boxes of Fruit Loops from the breakfast buffet.
