jaee901 Posted March 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2017 hi again! Is it quicker to get to Crystal Cave by taking the Ferry to Hamilton and then a bus to Crystal Cave or take a ferry to St. George and then a bus to Crystal Cave?? Thanks for your help. njhorseman Posted March 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Actual travel time is about the same either way, but there is much more frequent ferry service from Dockyard to Hamilton than Dockyard to St. George, so depending what time you're starting your trip it could be advantageous to take the ferry to Hamilton if it means not having to wait for the ferry to St. George. It should be a bit over an hour, say about an hour and a quarter, either way, including the time to walk from the either ferry terminal to the bus stop but not counting waiting time for the bus or the ferry. Going to St. George means about a 40 minute ferry ride followed by a 20 minute bus ride, while going via Hamilton means about a 20 minute ferry ride followed by a 40 minute bus ride. Some people don't care for the bus rides in Bermuda. They have a bit of an amusement park ride feel to them, taking curves at speeds that may seem higher than they should be. :) I happen to like them. SailBadtheSinner Posted March 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2017 How much would a taxi cost to get to the original Swizzle Inn from the Dockyard? To save some money, you could take the ferry from the Dockyard to Hamilton. Then a taxi from Front St in Hamilton to the original Swizzle Inn. The fare would be about $26 with 1-4 passengers and with 5-7 paszsengers, $33, weekdays. There is a surcharge on Sundays and Holidays. Xray12280 Posted March 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2017 When we went, we took a bus the whole way. Transferring at the Terminal in Hamilton. The ferry lines were always so long and I enjoyed seeing the islands by bus. I want to say it took about an hour. The bus schedule has the travel time from the Dockyard to Hamilton at 62 minutes; travel time from Hamilton to the Swizzle Inn at about 35 minutes. Plus any waiting time at the Hamilton bus terminal SBtS
