Looking at this cruise out of Boston and would like to know if there is much to do on this island.

There are beautiful beaches that are easy to get to. St George is beautiful also. The Americas cup is there end of May thru June. Should be a lot happening then. The people are so nice and the island feels safe even at night. Public transportation is easy and cheap. Is it the Caribbean? No. I prefer the Caribbean but go to Bermuda on the Dawn due to convenience and safe island. There are caves,forts and lighthouse to explore and plenty of boating,snorkeling etc.

Bermuda is absolutely beautiful. Beaches, shopping, jet skis, miniature golf, rent a pontoon, sightseeing, golf. The people are the most friendliest and the island is beautiful. You will find something to do.

Spent a lot of time in Bermuda, both on cruise ships and at hotels. It is a beautiful island with great friendly people. The Royal Naval Yard is where most cruise ships will dock, if small enough, some of them can dock right in downtown Hamilton. There are ferries to Hamilton and other parts of the island. Beaches are great, there are some nice reefs to snorkel dive as well. St. George is gorgeous and probably the hidden gem of the island IMO. Love just walking around, looking at the buildings and architecture. And with spending multiple days with the ship as your hotel, you can go and come as you please.

Bermuda is a beautiful island. And the Americas Cup this summer will make things interesting (the Village and Finsihline is just down the street from the dock). We will be there in June on the Breakaway.

While the Royal Navy Yard has a big museum & a shopping mall with a

few restos, you best bet is to take a 29 minute ferry over to Hamilton and

the 45 minute one to St George. You can buy the tickets at the Royal Naval

ferry slip.

While I found Hamilton to be pretty I thought St Georges had more

"quaints" to offer.

Bermuda is wonderful. The area around the Dockyard has some shopping and small museums. There's also a small beach at Snorkel Park.

 

It's easy to use public transportation to navigate around the islands that make up Bermuda. The ferry and bus schedules are easy to read and very accurate. You can take public transit to the beaches and various attractions. I really thought it was a wonderful part. As a young woman traveling alone, I'm always a little cautious. I never felt unsafe while in Bermuda, including when I was using buses and the ferry.

Bermuda is great. I've been there at least a half-dozen times, including 3 cruises. Lots to see, even using public buses and ferries.

 

Somethings can be a little expensive (what island isn't), but you can find bargains on many items from the UK & Ireland. And you don't have to worry about a currency exchange. The Bermuda dollar is at par with the US dollar, and almost every place takes both.

DH and I have been to Bermuda eight times and would go again. Love that island and always find something to do and we aren't even beach people.
