Obtaining Cash On Majesty

We will be cruising with NCL for the first time on the Majesty in May '06 for our honeymoon. We have cruised before, just not with NCL.

I have a question about getting cash while on board. I know that other cruise lines (i.e. RCCL & CCL) will let you use your "onboard account card" to obtain cash (with no fee) in the casino. Does NCL also allow this? This is a much safer way of having cash; by not having to keep large sums of cash in your stateroom for the entire cruise.

What does NCL call their onboard cards? The only info I could find on their web site states "NCL's special onboard credit program"???

Any info would be great.

Thanks

We got cash from the casino on Crown a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit more complicated than our experience on RCCL and Celebrity, where the cashier simply handed us the cash and charged it to our room. I went to the cashiers window where she took my room card and filled out paperwork. I then had to take the paper to a table and request chips. A pit boss had to be called to handle the paperwork. I was then given the chips. I took the chips to the cashiers window and exchanged them for cash. They knew exactly what I was doing, so don't know why we had to jump through all the hoops. We'll be on Majesty in a couple weeks. We'll see if their process is any easier.

I charged $300 to my onboard account one time on a recent Jewel cruise, and they only asked if I was playing slots or table games. I guess the key may have been that I said I was playing slots. I simply signed a slip, and they handed me the cash.

You can sign for cash on your room account or use the ATM in the casino. I can't remember the fee for the ATM, but there isn't a fee to get cash on your room account. If you feel like gambling, the tables are great. I won $2K on blackjack on our last night back in August and paid off our onboard credit plus had money left for back to school shopping!!
