This is our first time sailing with RCI. Any tips on the best places for breakfast or lunch? In the past we've usually eaten both at the buffet. Is the MDR better?

If you are asking about Vision, you can have breakfast at the Main Dining Room, Windjammer (buffet), or Park Cafe. The MDR will have sit down, menu service, and Eggs Benedict. However, Windjammer also has eggs made to order, though they may not serve Eggs Benedict. Park Cafe has egg/muffin sandwiches, wraps, panini, oatmeal, bagels, etc. Even though the menu is limited at Park Cafe, we find it quieter and less hectic than the other places.

Yes on the Vision! Thanks your advice is great. Ten nights on the Vision and we will definitely need to mix up our dining options.

We ALWAYS eat breakfast in the dining room...so much nicer and more "civilized" than the buffet! Not a fan of buffets, anyhow! Being served, with everything you need ON THE TABLE is nice! No searching for a table, or waiting to get butter or syrup while your pancakes get cold...

 

Lunch is only served in the DR on sea days, and since we're usually at the pool, we just do the WJ for a sandwich then.

I guess since we try to get off the boat quickly on port days we eat at the buffet. I need to try the MDR for breakfast at least once. Or even the cafe.

If you're up in time for the MDR, breakfast is best there. ;)
