Escape room on Escape

Do a google search. I don't think the link will post.

Norwegian Cruise Line has added a new “escape room” style experience to the company’s four newest ships.

It’s called Escape the Big Top, and it sees guests experience “the magic of an escape room with a twist, as they put their critical thinking skills to the test in a physical adventure game to solve challenges and beat the clock,” according to a release.

The experience takes guests to an onboard carnival which “takes an unusual turn when an act goes wrong.” Guests then have to solve the clues and escape the spell before time runs out.

The event is free, and can last up to one hour, available several times per cruise on Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Escape.

Reservations can be made through the box office once guests are onboard.

I'm so mad that they didn't have this when I was on these ships! I like that they are expanding the on board daytime entertainment. Our last cruise they had a few wine and paint type classes. It was fun and tested our packing prowess to figure out how to get the paintings home with us lol

Heard they have a room on Escape that they lock you into and you have to figure a way to get out. Anyone heard of this?

Is this something if you are in Haven you can request they book for you?

Being a little envious of the Havens, me thinks you should all be locked in the Haven and enjoy.

Don't be coming down to the poop decks and flouting the norms of the non-havens. :p

Royal Caribbean also has The Escape Room. I've never done it, but I am booked on both the Escape and Royal's Harmony of the Seas. I don't like being locked in anywhere, so I probably won't do it..lol.

It sure is! We asked the concierge literally a few hours before start time. He picked up the phone and told us we were in go to event at 12 noon. went up to reservation stand, gave our room number and we were escorted right in. There was a long standby line waiting for unfilled spaces. We had a lot of fun too!

I did the Escape Room on the Royal's Harmony. It was a lot of fun. The Harmony's version is a room specifically built as an Escape Room much like you can now find in cities all around the country. There were a lot of specific pieces of equipment (safes, maps, lighted panels, computer screens, cords and electronic buttons, etc.) that were part of the puzzle path. We had a great time. A ship staff member was in the room with us at all times (he plays a "character" of sorts). I'm pretty sure that the door was not actually "locked" and there was ample instruction on what to do if you felt claustrophobic so you could be "let out" if need be. The room was large (maybe the size of 2 or 3 cabins) and there were 15 of us puzzle solvers in the room.

From what I have read about it, the NCL version of this takes place in existing locations on the ship that were designed for other purposes. They are much larger in size. I also doubt they will ship computers, safes, etc. for the room. But maybe they will. It sounded more like it was problems that you might use pencil and paper to solve. It will be interesting to hear the details.

We have several escape rooms by us, they have many different rooms to choose from. Dd16 and her friends are doing a forest escape room this weekend.

Please come back to this thread and let us know how it went. We plan on doing this on our May 6th Escape on one of the sea days.

Thank you in advance

We just returned from the March 25 sailing. We did the Escape room and had a BLAST! We stopped at the box office the first morning at sea to reserve a spot and there were two times offered 10 AM or 10 PM on Day 6 (Nassau). We chose 10AM because we figured our kids would be in Splash Academy at that time and we wouldn't be reaching Nassau until noon. There were a few people who showed up without reserving and they had spots for them.

Escape the Big Top takes place in the Supper Club. Puzzles are mostly paper and pencil with various clue stations around the room, but you also get a bag of items that help solve puzzles too, but I don't want to give away too much. We all thought it was well done even though nobody in the room solved the puzzle in time! Of course we were VERY close ;). They give you the answers at the end. The experience took one hour.
