Excursion Ideas for Family with young kids

Hi!

We are taking a 9 day trip on the Grandeur in August. We are doing Kings Wharf overnight, Nassau, and Coco-cay. This is the first year that we are booking excursions. I have a 10 year old and twins who will be turning 7. Looking for ideas that aren't too strenuous and will be air conditioned or near water so I don't hear complaints from my kids. lol.

Kids like to snorkel, but prefer to do it off the beach. I was thinking a glass bottom boat, but there are a zillion glass bottom boat tours listed, all for different prices, but run the same amount of time, so I am not sure what makes them different. Also, thought they'd like the bonfire. Not ready to do anything big like Atlantis. Thought maybe a catamaran ride at sunset, something like that also.

Want to book through Royal since I am a worrier and prefer to have the "back before the boat leaves" guarantee.

Looking to book soon because some excursions are 20% off the next 3 days. Would love any suggestions!

Thanks!!!! 1f642.png:)

Well, Coco Cay is the private island...so it's really a beach day, pure and simple. It's like being on the ship, except on land! Loungers are everywhere and cost nothing, and lunch is brought from the ship and served on the islands! There are snorkel rentals and/or excursions there...but if the kids have their own gear, they can use it from the beach.

As far as the "glass bottom" boats....having done it, I would NOT waste my money again on that! You have to go inside to see thru the glass, and it's HOT!

Can't help with Fisherman's Wharf...but a guidebook from your local library will give you excellent ideas. There really is no need to pay overpriced excursions thru the ship. So many things are easy to do on your own. The only time I would do a ship's excursion is if where I want to go is FAR from port....most things are quite close by.
