So tell me about the spa on Allure...

Recommended Posts

I am definitely going to book something (facial/massage), but then I saw the couples massage/bathing ritual.

A few questions for you spa experts...

-If you book a treatment, do you have access to a steam room, or tile beds, or something like that?

-Anyone out there done the couples thing? I'm wondering how nice the room is- and if the bathing part is a 10-minute rinse or an actual private thing in a nice room where you can relax and enjoy.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would like to know more about the couples thing also. Years ago on the allure my wife and I did something where we had a private room and some special mud to put on each other then two shower seats/steam seats to sit in and rinse of It was one coolest things we have ever done on ship.

I've done the Couples Massage and Bathing Ritual on Oasis. It may have been more money than it was worth.

You start out with the couples massage, which was very nice. Afterward, you are escorted by the spa techs to the bathing room where there is a large two person bathtub and shower a bunch of salts, soaps, and muds that you can lather over each other and then rinse each other off and relax in the tub.

They make sure to tell you when they leave you in the room that other treatments are going on in neighboring rooms. Take that how you will.

I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't pay for the whole experience again, just the couples massage.

Just got off the Allure. My wife and I had a couples massage, 50 minute deep tissue massage. First time for us. We waited for a short time in a waiting room that smelled great, looked nice, and had very relaxing music. We were greeted by our masseuses and taken back to a simple room with two beds. We were asked about services and areas to be worked. The staff was very skilled and it was a very nice experience. Be prepared, they may try to sell you on their treatments, but it was worth the time and the money. Book ahead of your cruise and try to get a port day appointment if you want to keep it a little more affordable.

I have emailed back and forth with a rep from Steiner Management (This is who manages the spa). The response I got was very clear because I email multiple times. The couples massage and bathing ritual for $329 is a "75 minute massage with a 50 minute Jacuzzi tub for 2 people." She said that there are bath salts etc available. Im bringing my emails with me because for proof in case she is wrong.

We didn't do the bathing ritual, but we did do the ginger lime scrub with the full body massage last month and it was wonderful!

As for the hard sell at the end, I started the appointment off with stating we were there to relax, services have been paid and I will not be buying things at the end- we had a wonderful massage and they did not attempt to sell us anything
