Moving into a new LCV tier and booking on board

So if I am calculating right we will move from Adventurer to Explorer at the very end of our next cruise (based on points per night). This will be based on one 7 night Celebrity Cruise and 23 nights on Azamara, all in a veranda stateroom. I like to book onboard for the extra perks and small discount. Will I be able to make an onboard booking at the level I will achieve during the cruise to take advantage of the higher discount and also the complimentary nights?

I had the same question as AllisonJames so last week sent an email to the LCV ambassador. When I hear back, I will post the reply. This is my understanding. The points post to your account and you move up a tier after the cruise. At that time, you can have the reservation you made on board repriced to reflect the complimentary nights.

We moved to Discovery Level last year during a cruise and were allowed to book a future cruise onboard using our free nights. The balance we owed reflected our current LCV discount. When the cruise was over and we officially moved up to Discovery we could have Azamara reflect the new discount level in a new invoice. Hope this helps.

You are correct, on our recent cruise, we moved from Discover to Discover Plus (5% to 7%), our quote on board was for the proposed 5% LVC discount, when we transferred our bookings to our travel agents on our arrival home at our request she sent them off, the invoice was adjusted to reflect the 7% discount, the 6 free nights earned and a AUD$350 refer and received to arrive at a new invoice total. As we have another two 'refer and receives' that will happen August and October, we will again apply those prior to paying the final invoice on December 1. You can only apply a total of 3 refer and receive certificates to a booking.

Here's the question I asked the LCV Ambassador, Nicole, via email. "It is my understanding that the complimentary nights posted after a sailing can be retroactively applied to a reservation made on that sailing."

Here's Nicole's response. "If you move up on the sailing that you created the booking that you want to apply your Complimentary Nights to, the answer is yes."
