As part of the New Lattitudes benefit, Does the port of NY offer a separate area for expedited boarding for Platinum and above Guests ??

Also has anyone Platinum + or above dined with an officer sailing on the Gem ??

Thanks in Advance !!

On our March 9th Gem Cruise, there was a separate seating area roped off for platinum and above boarding. We were given boarding group 1 tickets, and boarded right after Suites, VIP and those needing assistance. I am only Platinum, so I cannot speak to your other question about dining with the officers!

It is good to hear that there is now a separate area for Platinum and higher. This was not the case back in January.

Platinum gets boarding groups 1 & 2. They have a separate area to sit in so non-Platinum people don't try to jump in line with them and board earlier. (This happens more often than you think) The order that was called when I last sailed was: Suites & Haven, Casinos at Sea, then Platinum. I guess Casinos at Sea guests needed to get fed quickly so they could start spending $$ as soon as possible!! LOL :D

On our March 26 Breakaway sailing the roped off "holding area" for Platinum and higher was at capacity by ~10:30 -10:45 am. Now it was an absolutely at capacity sailing but the number of guests in this Latitudes priority boarding "pen" was beyond what they had provided space for. We had group #1 tags. We watched through the windows for a good 30 minutes as literally hundreds of guests with higher priority boarded (assume Haven / Suites / CAS but there was obviously others as well). All-in-all for a huge ship sailing full the boarding went reasonably smoothly from our somewhat advantaged perspective.

It wouldn't be, as the benefit was added in February.

True, but last year (2016) we embarked in Port Canaveral, Boston, and Seattle who offered priority embarkation for Platinum members. PC and Seattle just called groups and checked cruise cards as you entered the security line. Boston had a separate pen for priority boarding.

We also embarked in Miami and NY which were just the normal boarding groups (no priority for anyone other than Havens and special assistance).
