hawkeye65 Posted May 2, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I often have empty hands at the pre-dinner port talk. Sometimes I get a cup of herbal tea. Lots of people will have cocktails, but it is not a frat party where everyone is encouraging you to get drunk. There will be waitresses coming around asking if you want a drink, but a simple "no thank you" works - no pressure, no dirty looks. This is not like a regular bar where you are expected to buy or move on. Tipping is at the end of the cruise and not usually by the drink, so the staff incentive is to have you happy rather than push drinks. No worries. Good to hear. Rare notamermaid Posted May 2, 2017 #27 Share Posted May 2, 2017 The German word you need for apple juice with sparkling water is Apfelschorle. On a land excursion this comes in very handy; ok, it will probably not help you with the international crew onboard. You could just ask them to mix it. Wikipedia says: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apfelschorle notamermaid
