1 week today and i’ll be on board and I can’t wait [emoji4]

It seems like forever ago that you started the thread, Martin. :p

I remember following the lead-up thread for Meraviglia as we were booked on one of her early sailings, so I can really relate to how you must be feeling now.

It has been a long wait indeed bea and hopefully it will be the start of a love affair with msc cruises. My daughter is so excited she loves cruising, this will be her 4th cruise and she’s only 6 [emoji4] it also makes me happy that she is getting to see so much of the world (also done disney, florida twice). I will definitely be letting everyone know how it went but it will probably be short n sweet[emoji23]. Thanks again to everyone who posted in this thread its been a pleasure to read as have all the threads of msc cruises much more informative than rccl and ncl threads [emoji23]special thanks to bea , dave and pete [emoji1303]keep up the fabulous work

I made some videos of the ship , here is my YouTube channel

good points :

-ice cream

- desserts

- bread ( sorry i am French lol )

-design of the ship

Bad points

- shows

- size of cabine

- 7 days is too short for this ship

I look forward to seeing the videos Dub237 when we get home - I think the shows are ok but being that there aren’t so many different languages they are not Broadway style productions like on some American lines- the entertainment is different than on Royal Caribbean and carnival which are the only two I can compare - but there seems to be a variety of things to do at night and also lots of bars))

There was a lot of activities this morning on the promenade deck but now we are in port in Naples so it is quiet.

Booked the Pompei excursion from the ship but we don’t leave until 3pm so I guess we are back by 7 but will likely miss dinner in the mdr since it will take us time to get ready - oh well there is always the buffet! Not body will starve in this ship that’s for sure!! Seems to be a good variety in the buffets - the selection in the dining room was not extensive but we are not “foodies” so it was fine (I’ll post some menus when I am home)

Also didn’t do any specialty restaurants so I can’t comment on those but so far no complaints about the dining (except the buffet on deck 16 was very crowded late this morn which is to be expected when we are at sea, other times I never had a problem getting a seat!

Off the ship yesterday had an amazing cruise, ship was everything we could of asked for and some [emoji4]. We both loved the shows in the theatre and the entertainment elsewhere was amazing especially the pool parties and the atrium parties, met captain scala (got a selfie[emoji23]). Got 30% off next cruise from the casino[emoji322]and booked again for next year. Loved the ports of call especially malta. Will post more when back home[emoji1303]6e175ec9aff90cd9bb0542214abcaa42.jpge9a7cf8e69a712035d31fe00a5bcfa03.jpgc061cb0c8625c2a7f46d10a559d5c549.jpg593c1c162aaebebf9920c1760a62926b.jpg49044db7c493b5aef9f965cc9aa95653.jpg9157e13a1dade0713ce6d8ff77db019c.jpg

Thanks for everything both sidari n bea[emoji1303]. We’re booked for 19 july for 2 weeks but on bellissima bea [emoji4]. So many people we spoke to had been on meraviglia and liked it more so we thought we’d give her sister a go [emoji4]

Very surprised to hear that. Friends of ours disembarked Seaview last week and were bowled over by the ship. They've been on numerous MSC ships (and other lines) including Meraviglia and they thought Seaview couldn't be compared to Meraviglia at all in the overall experience. They reckon Seaview's YC was the best ever! I won't be able to form my own opinions 'til September 2019 when I sail on her (that's why I asked when had you booked). I was really looking forward to hearing about your experience onboard.

It's reports like this that make me reluctant to try other lines. I wouldn't mind paying extra if I thought that the experience would be superior to what MSC offers. I have yet to be convinced. My one dalliance with Celebrity left me cold. At least I know what to expect from MSC (and who to complain to, if need be ).

Did you use your casino voucher to book your next cruise? Did you book onboard?

Don’t get me wrong the whole experience was amazing and I can’t compare to other msc ships as you know but i like sailing new ships and bellissima will be the new one also i have an affinity with malta as i holidayed there with my parents 9 times when i was a kid and absolutely loved being there again [emoji4]

When we first booked seaview i also priced symphony of the seas and for 3 balcony rooms it was over 16k compared to 8k so it was a no brainer. The cabins were no different to other cruise lines ive sailed ( ncl rccl ) but loved the whole experience (shows and entertainment especially). Once sailed in an owners suite on liberty of the seas and the room was nice but I imagine it would not compare to yacht club in the slightest [emoji4]. My father kept comparing to rccl about the staff in the dining rooms and bars but i told him to give a tip and as soon as he did he loved it, also his partner was on her first cruise and she was a bit dubious but absolutely loved it and is sailing with us again next year. What dates are you sailing seaview as im tempted to sail her again and have some extra cash spare and would love to meet you[emoji23]

Yeah we booked onboard and used my casino discount which saved us £2800 and we got €100 per week per cabin which was really good. Onboard credit not as much as rccl but im fully hooked on msc for now [emoji1303]

That's terrific - I didn't think they allowed you to use the voucher 'til you disembarked. (I have a vague memory of enquiring and being denied - but I could be wrong ) There should be a cash amount on your casino voucher, too, which you can claim in the casino on your next cruise - it's not an OBC (unlike the OBC you're getting for booking onboard). Our April cruise was discounted by over €4000 with a casino voucher and we also got a very nice discount on our upcoming September cruise on Poesia.

We're booked on Seaview for 28 August next year (in YC). We're also booked on Meraviglia out of New York on Oct 18 going to New England & Canada (another cruise with a hefty discount - over 50%) due to missing ports on our last cruise - I believe we're saving just shy of €5000 on that one!)
