Norwegian iconcierge app question

I believe it's something like a one-time fee of $15 per device, at least on the away ships.

Someone will probably come and say it's $7.95, but I've seen people say it's been bumped to $15 recently. May not know for sure until you board.

1. Yes, iconcierge is free to download and use on the ship but to send messages there's a 1 time fee per phone. In Jan we did 10 days on the jade and the cost was $10.

2. No, it doesn't use your phone number or let you use iMessage or anything, it ONLY lets you communicate through the app to other people on the ship.

Thanks for the information.

I was on the dreaded star sailing(broken azipod). I had the app downloaded and during the cruise, all of a sudden I got a message from my son. We ended up texting back and forth several times and I was never charged. He was in USA, I was in Asia. So, I am not sure if it has changed recently or if I wasn't charged by mistake. Thanks for the heads up.

How do they charge you? Do you agree to the charge? I would have been upset if I was charged without knowing, as I thought I would be charged by my carrier, not the ship. I will be sure to block that from happening on my next sailing.
