Options for Staying Connected while on board

Recommended Posts

Aside from Voom, does anyone have any suggestions for staying connected while cruising? I just want to connect (chat, message, email) with my private tour operators and tours before we get to port. I also want to connect with other people I'm traveling to stay in touch while on board and on shore. If Voom is the best option, please say so as well. Thanks.

I used the WhatsApp app to text with my daughter when she was in Taiwan, but I think you need a wifi connection for that. On our last cruise, we bit the bullet and just got the two-device package for the week so we could text each other.

I'd go with their wifi plan again. You might find free wifi at port stops, but I prefer not to use free internet in places I'm not familiar with. But that's just me.

I have always used pre-planning, ship phones, and basic common sense.

We never have any problems staying in touch.

Unfortunately ships have become just like everywhere else.

Over half the people walking around staring at device in their hand.

Nice way to spend a vacation......
