Balcony Partitions

If you have friends or family in the rooms next to you, can you have your balcony partition opened or taken down for more room?

It really depends what ship and what deck?

On some ships some side by side cabins the balcony door is too close to the partition so if it's opened it blocks one cabin's door from opening.

With the ship and specific cabin numbers known, you can look up or ask Carnival about the balcony partition. Some can be opened, and some cannot.

If it can be opened, you must to go guest services onboard with someone from each cabin, then they will make the request to have the partition opened.

In some cases yes, in others no. As the above poster mentioned sometimes the partition goes in front of the balcony door which is an issue. If not being able to do so is a deal breaker for you I would call Carnival and get a PVP on the phone, they should be able to find out if the specific cabins you have booked are able to do this. If so once onboard a person from each room must go to guest services to make the maintenance request.

The above answers hold true on the Triumph, Conquest, Dream and Vista class ships. On the Spirit class ships, the dividers swing towards the balcony railings and are held there by clamps. Each ship has only a few of the clamps. They are opened on a first come first served basis and when they run out of clamps, they won't open any more.

Just be aware that the entire partition is not 'opened', just a door through it. so you can move between the balconies, but you won't have a larger balcony. EM

We've sailed on the Destiny, Triumph, Conquest and Dream classes and every one of them had full balcony dividers, no doors. When opened, they were latched to the bulkhead and made a balcony twice the size.
