Deckhand2 Posted April 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We're preparing for a Russian river cruise with Viking this June. Read lots of the reviews regarding the Viking Akun, excursions, food, etc. I'd really appreciate any "practical" advice about clothing, currency, do's, and dont's that you think we really need to know. Thanks!
steverhodes Posted May 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2017 A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is the equivalent of a half million words I guess: Go to my personal pictorial website and click on the Russia picture or link to see the pictures we took on our Viking River Cruise in Russia last July. http://www.RhodesVacations.com Some samples. Rare Roz Posted May 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2017 I took 5 semesters of Russian in the past couple of years, and can't wait to test drive my language skills. Thank you for the beautiful photos. Roz Sent from my SM-S820L using Forums mobile app

Rare Roz Posted May 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2017 Steve, I've never been to Russia, but I'm guessing English speakers are more frequently found in cities, correct? Just being able to read signs and menus in Russian would be a huge help, I would think. Roz
