Linda the Book Lover Posted April 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2017 I am thinking of booking the half-day tour to Monaco and Eze which will still give the Dh and myself time in Cannes. Has anyone else done this? Suggestions are appreciated as we just decided to book a tour in this port.
Rare Hlitner Posted April 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Since everyone has their own taste...we would say it is probably as good (or bad) as any tour. Your idea of leaving half the day to explore Cannes does make a lot of sense. The only way to learn about places that you love (and you want to revisit in the future) and places that are "saw it once and that is enough" is to experience it for yourself. I actually like combining Monte Carlo with Eze Village...since they are completely different experiences and very convenient (geographically). As to Cannes, during the daytime its just a nice city worthy of a long walk and enjoying the atmosphere. There are plenty of shops (both touristy and high end) and lots of cafes where you can stop for a break (and drink). If your tour is in the morning, when you return to Cannes do not waste your time tendering back to the ship (for lunch or otherwise). Just start walking and enjoy Cannes...and find a nice place for lunch. There are actually some decent restaurant/cafes pretty close to the tender pier as you walk along the Marina on your way to downtown. You will see a few of those eating venues on your left (the marina will be on your right). As you get into more central Cannes, this is where you will see some of the high end hotels...and more expensive restaurants. Hank
Linda the Book Lover Posted April 30, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Thanks Hank! I love the idea of the half-day tour so my DH and I can meander around Cannes before returning to the ship. We are going to book the AM tour so we have the afternoon to enjoy a bite and of course a glass of wine.
