Eurodam Alaska - Open Dining

We're sailing her September 2nd out of Seattle and have chosen Open Dining. All of our past cruises have been assigned late seating so this will be a new experience for us.

Just curious as to whether anyone knows what the peak dining time is? We normally eat dinner at home around 7pm, but coming from the East Coast we'll most likely be dinner ready earlier rather than later. And didn't know if the ship, being an older demo with little to no children on board, will have an effect on dining crowd. We are in our early to mid-50's so not taking a swipe at the older generations, LOL!

TIA!

We always choose open seating because I like the flexibility.

We are also early 50's and live on east coast...we have a lot in common.

I'll let you know what we observe on Eurodam next week as far as busy/not so busy times.

Open seating is good for Alaska because there is a lot to see when leaving ports. When you're in the dining room, it's hard to see all that can be seen. Dinner time is usually when the ship is proceeding down the channel and still "up close and personal" with the land.

In North America, 7 PM* is the peak dinner time. Think of it as a bell shaped curve with the 90th percentile tails extending an hour in each direction.

If you live in Florida**, you may have to back up the time by around an hour. Certain segments of the Florida population eat pretty early.
