Rainforest River Tubing

Is this a ship excursion or a private excursion?

You have a post here asking about Harvest Caye. Are you sailing on NCL?

If this is a ship excursion it may be fairly new. If it's private, be sure to find out if they can pick you up at the mainland pier, which if you read the posts on threads on Harvest Caye hasn't really been allowed since the island opened up in November 2016. Most cave tubing is done on the Caves Branch River which is not close to Harvest Caye at all. But there may be other tubing sites in the area nearer harvest Caye.

I looked that up on the NCL site. The 4 reviews are mixed with lots of complaints about travel. But these could be reviewers that just like to complain because excursions aren't like Disney or Universal Studios (and they'd probably complain about wait times there too).

Does seems like a long ferry and bus ride, for tubing time down the river that could be shorter than the ride to the site. while the Southern Highway is okay pavement wise, not sure about the road from the ferry dock to the Southern Highway.

Anything you to eat and drink you have to purchase. Not included in the excursion price. Sounds like lots of push to buy stuff along the way or before getting back on the bus.

You are tubing down the Rio Grande River which is further south than the cave tubing river out of Belize City. The terrain is more hilly than mountainous. so lots of rainforest type vegetation. I'd be sure to have a DEET bug repellent on.

clearly the above poster has never done the tour. There certainly is a bus ride involved which allows you to see some country side. Complaining about a bus ride you knew you were going to do is childish. The tour wont happen if there has been alot of rain. You can get a feel for the tour on youtube. Have someone show you how to do it.
