Casino Offers folowing a cruise

I have to admit it-I am slot addict-I even have a few in my "man cave". On almost every cruise I get a letter at the end of the cruise offering me "Casino Cash" if I book another cruise within a month and sail within 6 months. My problem is that I usually have the next few cruises already booked and the offer NOW clearly states "New bookings only". I have experienced other problems as well. Last year we took a cruise around Australia for 6 weeks and following that cruise I was offered a substantial amount of Casino Cash if I booked another cruise-The problem-The cruise had to be in Australia. Next cruise was local and came up with more offers but I had already booked a TA so that was not honored. Following the TA to the UK I received another offer for more cash. This time I was prepared and booked another cruise around the British Isles. Now the Princess folks tell me that the offer was only for cruises that originate in the US. How can that be? The cruise took me to the British Isles but I can only get the cash if I book another cruise for in the US. Has anybody else gone through this?

I have written to them and they have honored the casino cash offer for a previously booked offer even when the letter indicated new bookings only. Maybe they are getting more strict about the new bookings part? I have not tried to use the letters for locations other than those listed on the offer but always thought it was goofy to restrict the areas.

I have gotten a couple of surveys recently from the Princess casino and commented about what comps might make more sense. So it does seem like they are considering changes in future comps. I know that they are using these "bounce back" letters to incent gamblers to book another cruise but it would seem like if you earned that amount by your play on a cruise, that they should honor it on ANY future cruise.

I was given a similar offer after a cruise in February, i had booked the next one just days before as well. I wrote to them to ask if anything could be done, and they couldn't honour it (which i get), but they have extended a courtesy casino credit which i can claim on board in June. Its no way near as much, but enough to keep me happy to throw away in an evening. The deal itself isnt from Princess,a ll the Casinos in Carnival Corp are run by Oceans Players Club, obviously connected but still a different point of contact and not Princess Customer Service.

You are so right about the casino not being run by Princess. For awhile it was Global Casino and now it Players club. On my most recent offer I called the number given on the letter and got Princess Guest Services. They told me the offer id not count as it was not in the regions mentioned and that, in addition, my booking through a travel agent also voided the offer. I contacted Global Casino Operations and asked the same question. (Note: all mail to Global Casino now tell you to, for future queries please visit us at http://www.oceanplayersclub.com) . I got a nice note telling me that the offer which the Princess folks told me would not be honored, and my name is already on the list for the desired cruise. Just shows to go you that, if at first you don't get the answer you like, try somebody else;)

  • 2 weeks later...

We always email the players club a couple weeks before sailing to ask for comps. They've never loosened the requirements on a free cruise offer, but always come through with some level of comps.

We make sure to print the email, and connect with the casino host on board... praising the crew ... We often run into a dealer that we remember from a previous trip, and fuss about how great it is to be recognized.

Somehow, the free drinks and chocolate deliveries to the cabin come early. Nice words go a long way!
