We will be with celebrity in December , in cozumel, the ship is offering tours to chicken itza, so would like to go, even though it's about 3 hours each way,

Is there enough time to see the ruins?,

How are tge bugs around the site?

We did this on a ship's excursion way too many years ago to give your current information.

Still, just have to say it's worth it to see Chichen Itza which is the best and most famous and glad we did it.

Have to admit .... Once was enough for us.... :o

If you search this forum and others you'll find you can go through the ship or with an independent operator like Fly Cozumel with less travel time. With ~6 hrs travel time using the ferry and bus you'd need at least 10 hrs in port.

Gotta agree with bluewater...look at Fly Cozumel if thinking about Chichen Itza. If your ship is offering the tour it's probably going to be in port for an extended visit, not the typical 6-8 hours. But your time at the ruins on a ship excursion will be very limited.

Alternatively look at a combo tour of Tulum and Coba, or just to Coba with more than an hour at the site.

There is a KFC there. Lots of chicken itza for you to enjoy.;p.

Also, be careful of the tge bugs there. They bite. Bring DEET.

Enjoy your cruise.
