SeasTheDay12 Posted May 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Looking at Fall TA and what cabin recommendations for port? Starboard? For most use of balcony ( depending on weather of course) Thanks for any help! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
champagne123 Posted May 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2017 There will be ocean on the port and ocean on the starboard. :') If you get a balcony...one thing to consider is smoking outside on deck 5/portside.
mnocket Posted May 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Just got off an EB TA. The advice was to book a starboard cabin as the south facing balcony would get more sunlight. Truth was that the sun was pretty high in the sky and all but a foot of the balcony remained in the shade. I'd say book the cabin that you prefer regardless of side. TeaBag Posted May 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2017 if you want the sunnier side it will be port. Sometimes on a TA it is too cold to sit outside but you can get blankets from the pool deck. Have a great cruise.
sandav Posted May 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Looking at Fall TA and what cabin recommendations for port? Starboard? For most use of balcony ( depending on weather of course) Thanks for any help! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app We did Silhouette's November 2016 Transatlantic. It was the southern route from Rome to Fort Lauderdale. We had a port side balcony cabin midship deck 9. Some afternoons it was so hot we could not sit on the balcony and resorted to deck 5 outside chairs on the starboard side. On deck 14 at the Mast Grill it was also boiling hot. Now we come from Scotland and as such probably have difficulty with too much heat. If you like heat, then port is the best side for a fall transatlantic. The weather was brilliant though. If doing the crossing from Southampton to Miami then weather might be much different as this is a more northerly crossing.
