Zutcorp Posted June 1, 2017 #129 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Damn. Wish i knew that. My son has some skin issues. On the other hand he is older now, and we haven't tried the sea in a few years. Hell just have to hit the showers often to get the salt out.
Zutcorp Posted June 1, 2017 #130 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Do you know if they use sea water? Or just salted water - or... To Put it differently, how is the salt levels compared to the mediterranean?
Clarea Posted June 1, 2017 #131 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Do you know if they use sea water? Or just salted water - or... To Put it differently, how is the salt levels compared to the mediterranean? Sea water that is filtered. I believe the water is also treated if the ship is within a certain distance from land, however I'm not 100% sure this applies to all Mediterranean countries. Hopefully the Chief can fill us in.
Hoopster95 Posted June 1, 2017 #132 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Hi LittleBritain, Would you mind explaining to me how Santorini worked... you were tendered to the old port correct? When dropped off, were there any immediate options for boat/water taxi to Oia being advertised?
Rare SpainAlien Posted June 2, 2017 #133 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Just to check in with everyone to let you know the Windjammer food is good as usual and the beer is cold, going down nicely. They also have a pear cider which meets with hubby's approval Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

When dropped off, were there any immediate options for boat/water taxi to Oia being advertised? Not Little Britian here....but...we were on the 5/6 sailing. We didn't do it but there were folks on the CC group that took a boat from the tender pier area to Oia. Hopefully they will come on here and answer. I believe it was something like $20 pp and included the boat from tender dock to Oia and then the bus from Oia back to Fira (town above tender pier). Perfect Thank you skiiergirl... can you also confirm that this wasn't an RCL excursion? You just get off the tender and the boats are there for people to choose to take? e39m5 Posted June 2, 2017 #136 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Has anyone noticed fresh fruit smoothies on board anywhere? I've seen them in the solarium on other ships. Thank you.

I remember seeing the signs as we approached from the tender....just don't remember the exact cost/details since we already had an independent tour booked. skiiergirl Posted June 3, 2017 #140 Share Posted June 3, 2017 From the Compass for 5/29/2017 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Nice information. I don't think we had that information in our compass back in May. I think the cable car price is outdated though. I am pretty sure we paid 6 euro pp each way. (Round trip tickets are NOT available.) I think the folks that told us they did the boat/bus to/from Oia said it was more like 10 or 12 euro....but I could be wrong there.
seaofwonder Posted June 3, 2017 #141 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Speed boat is 15 euros. Pick whichever one is the fullest. They wait around a long time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare SpainAlien Posted June 3, 2017 #142 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Just to let you all know, the solarium pool is salt water and not heated - it's a bit nippy Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Rare SpainAlien Posted June 5, 2017 #145 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Jewel pulled into Mykonos harbour this morning. This way we get to pay 4€ per person for the waterbus instead of RCCL having to pay for the tenders. By the way Foursome were on at Coral Theatre last night - brilliant! obxlover Posted June 5, 2017 #147 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Another question on transportation to/from Oia. I will be on Jewel in August and we are in Santorini from 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Do you know how late the buses will leave from from Oia back to Fira? I would love to get a sunset picture from Oia, but I am worried about getting transportation back. Rare SpainAlien Posted June 7, 2017 #148 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Today in Santorini there were 3 cruise ships and from joining the queue for the cable car at the top it took 6 minutes to get down to the bottom. It's all about timing, I was there at 12:52. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
krisko Posted June 8, 2017 #149 Share Posted June 8, 2017 We like to tip as we get drinks in Diamond Lounge. Should get tip in euros or dollars? I assume the casino still uses dollars?

Casino still uses US Dollars. For the crew, as long as they are in Europe, USD or Euros are fine.
